🌚 The Weekly Vibe: the week of June 29 - July 6
It will be another touchy-feely week as the water element and three planets in Cancer continue to take center stage. Most of the week, we're also experiencing some potent tension between past habits and future growth and how they relate to our life's direction. Reflection is necessary, but don't let yourself drown in it.
Adding to this introspective atmosphere, Mercury opposes Pluto on Tuesday, intensifying our thoughts and communications. This can bring profound insights and the potential for obsessive thinking or power struggles in conversations. Meanwhile, Saturn's stationing retrograde until mid-November prompts us to reassess our structures and long-term commitments in the coming months.
As we approach the New Moon on Friday, anticipate a clearer sense of direction or a fresh, intuitive idea of what's next. This lunar reset, following a week of intense mental activity and structural reassessment, offers a promising opportunity for new beginnings.
As Saturn’s been making retrograde moves, it got me thinking about how we dance with discipline in our lives.
Have you noticed how our society loves to swing on pendulums? Not even a decade ago, hustle culture and "girl bossing" were the golden tickets to the cool kids' club. Now? A quick TikTok scroll will tell you that notion's been canceled faster than last season's fashion trends. These days, we're all supposed to be basking in our "soft life" eras, while spirituality influencers (using that term very loosely) promise us the universe is just dying to hand over everything we desire. No strings attached! Well, except for that not-so-small investment in their latest course.
But here's the thing – life isn't just about choosing between grinding ourselves to dust or floating on clouds of manifestation. It's about finding that sweet spot where discipline meets desire, where structure supports our dreams instead of squashing them. I've been coming back to this truth repeatedly, and the existence of Saturn alone is what solidifies it for me.

In its pure form, the Saturn archetype symbolizes effort, responsibility, discipline, and hard-earned growth through challenges. Every person has a Saturn in their natal chart, meaning everyone needs to interact with this energy of rigidity. Now, before you groan and reach for your "soft life" pillow, hear me out.
Saturn isn't here to rain on our parade or turn us into productivity robots. It's here to help us build the foundation for the life we actually want to live. Think of it as your cosmic personal trainer – sure, it might make you sweat, but it's all in service of making you stronger.
Now, here’s where things get personal - every natal chart is unique, and so is everyone's sense of responsibility and self-control. Depending on your Saturn placement (sign, house and interaction with other planets), you’ll face different limitations, obstacles or areas where you need to be more disciplined than your next door neighbor. Wherever is your Saturn, that’s where you simply must learn to take responsibility. If you try to float through that area without effort, you will face obstacles, difficulties, lack, delays and losses. You have to take control and work with your Saturn so it doesn't take control over you.
And Saturn isn't just about external roadblocks. It can also punishes us emotionally if we don't willingly work with it and refuse to take responsibility.
Ever promised yourself you'd do something important, then didn't follow through? That pit in your stomach? That's your inner Saturn wagging its finger at you. When we disconnect from Saturn’s energy, we might find ourselves drowning in fears, feeling stuck, or trying to control everything (and everyone) around us.
The symptoms of a Saturn disconnect are like a cosmic hangover: overcommitting ourselves, battling low self-esteem, struggling to ask for help, feeling like we don't deserve good things unless we've worked ourselves to the bone, and never being satisfied with what we achieve.
If you're feeling like a hot mess express – chaotic, unmotivated, scared of adulting, and constantly putting yourself down – your Saturn might be sending out an SOS.
But here’s the good news - nothing in astrology is predetermined. Every astrological symbol, including Saturn, has a light and dark side. It's up to us to choose which one we want to activate. Every unwanted quality or emotion can be a resource once we've seen and accepted it. Anger can fuel courageous action, inner chaos can spark creativity, and that anxious Saturn energy can be channeled into drive and determination.
Now, here's the plot twist – Saturn's lessons don't have to feel like you’re in elementary school detention. If we approach them from a place of self-judgment, yeah, they're going to feel harsh. But Saturn isn't here to impose some sort of totalitarian regime on our lives. It is not asking us to chase productivity as a flimsy substitute for feeling "enough."
When we embrace Saturn's wisdom from a place of self-love, something magical happens. We reclaim discipline as an act of sovereignty. It becomes about taking radical responsibility for our wildest dreams and highest visions.
Let’s be real - nothing truly worthwhile comes without facing some version of the "Saturnian struggle." But we get to choose our struggle - and that is a privilege.
